Canvassing for Katie

Hi! This is Skip and Pat. We ventured down to the opening of Katie Porter's campaign office in Huntingdon Beach on July 30th.

The campaign office opening was great - hearing Katie, seeing the enthusiasm of the volunteers, learning the technology for canvassing.

We teamed up and canvassed together. Many of the homes we were assigned were in a gated community, and we couldn't get in. But at least we marked them all so future canvassers won't waste their time. We met a couple of nice people - and one scary guy who, even though supposedly registered as a Democrat, went ballistic when he learned Porter is a Dem. He started screaming profanities at us. Skip had to pull Pat away as Pat was still trying to reassure this guy we were leaving. That was one angry, unhappy person. We marked him as "do not contact."
