OFA Westside LA had our first in-person event in more than 4 years yesterday, and it was a blast!
Held outdoors in a luscious backyard, with scrumptious snacks and good friends, it was a delightful picnic for purpose.
Eleven OFA chapter members, one neighbor, and one friend showed up to write postcards for Jacky Rosen and Dave Min. We were joined by Ziggy, the fabulous dog, Hermann the tortoise, and the cat Maggie Minette Claudette Harmful Howe Perry, commonly known as Harmful. Ziggy loved all the extra skritches and forbidden treats. Hermann and Harmful mostly hung out.
Jacky Rosen is running for re-election to the U.S. Senate in Nevada - this race is one of our main focuses this campaign season. Dave Min is running in CA-47 for Katie Porter's old seat. We want these people to win!
We got through 140 postcards in the afternoon, and 6 of us took homework with us to write 60 more. That's a good total for an afternoon get-together, especially since we were all a little rusty and had a lot to catch up on. See us all here, head's down and writing postcards:
We had so much fun and we did so much good that we plan on scheduling at least 2 more of these in-person postcard parties before we go all in on phonebanking later this summer. Email us at ofa.westsidela@gmail.com if you'd like to join us.
