My physical therapist was working with me when he posed this question: “What do you think of the direction the country is taking?"
So, off the top of my head, I gave him an incomplete list of what the Biden administration has accomplished:
Passed the first infrastructure bill in decades.
The Inflation Reduction Act will, among other things, lower healthcare costs, give Medicare the ability to negotiate drug costs, cap costs for seniors, and lower the price of insulin for seniors at $35 per month. The Democrats wanted the insulin price cap for everyone, but the GOP would not agree.
Lowest number of children in poverty.
Approved medical care for veterans exposed to burn pits. The GOP opposed.
Huge environmental bill, moving us to clean, renewable energy. Encourages infrastructure for electric vehicles, with 500,000 new charging stations across the country.
Unemployment at 3.5%.
Forgave student loans: $10,000 for those earning less than $125,000; $20,000 for those from lower-income backgrounds.
This administration has passed more legislation than any other in the last 40 years.
So, after I told him all that, I asked him what he thought.
He replied: “I can’t argue with that.”
We have to talk to everyone we can about the achievements of the Biden administration.
